Perched amidst spectacular natural beauty, Telluride is a little wonderland suspended in time. A vacation here is a fantastic idea that deserves to be applauded. Whether it be a winter skiing trip or a summer getaway, head for Telluride in the mountains to have the time of your life. In spite of its elevated position and winding mountain roads it is quite accessible from many cities down below.

Travel to Telluride by air from Salt Lake City, Denver, and Phoenix. The regional airport is a short 15 minute drive from the city and you can either rent a car or take a private shuttle to get there. The nearby Montrose Regional Airport has flights from Houston, Dallas, Newark, and Chicago.

Driving up to Telluride is an experience in itself. Visitors drive in from as far away as Phoenix and Las Vegas and from nearby Cortez and Durango. Make sure you get information on current road conditions before you set out.

For a different experience you can drive down from the heights of Telluride, across the four corners into Arizona, and stare down the depths of the Grand Canyon. That should make your vacation complete. From Telluride it's a 6 hour drive across 346 miles to the Canyon. Turn right into CO-145 till you hit US-60 where you make a right turn again and keep going for about 300 miles. On reaching US-89, do a further 15 odd miles till you hit AZ-64. About 53 miles down you come to the entrance road that takes you to the Canyon.
