Family Vacations

Grand Canyon National Park, located in northern Arizona, ranks as one of the greatest desitnation spots for families worldwide. Visitors can choose from freelancing on their own, or arranging for an all-inclusive family vacation package with one of the region's many tour guides.

There are plenty of family tour options in and around Grand Canyon National Park. Depending on personal preference you can raft the Grand Canyon's Colorado River, choosing from short two or three nighters, or longer weeklong excursions. Some tour companies also offer packages that combine rafting with horseback riding, train trips, or even working on cattle ranches. For an Old West experience you can hike into the canyon with pack mules and spend several nights camping along the Colorado River's sandy banks. Or, for a truly different perspective, you can also arrange for a flight over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter or small plane.

Most packages originate in or near the park. But some tour operators actually function out of Las Vegas, allowing you to combine gambling with outdoor adventure.
