Due to its remote location, getting to The Grand Canyon can be part of the adventure. The closest airport (Grand Canyon Airport) only serves scenic flights and private planes. Try Flagstaff, Phoenix, or Las Vegas airports.

Grand Canyon Airport

Just 7 miles from the South Rim, the Grand Canyon Airport offers services for private airplanes and scenic tours of the canyon.

  • Location: Just 2 miles from the park entrance and 7 miles from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. 
  • Airlines: No commercial airlines. Tours and private planes only.

Flagstaff Pullman Airport

The Flagstaff Airport is a small airport serving one commercial airline, US Airways Express.

  • Location: The airport can be found at Hwy 17 and Hwy 487, just a few miles south of downtown Flagstaff. To get to Grand Canyon National Park, drive northwest on US-180 for roughly 75 miles.
  • Airlines: 
    American Airlines to/from Phoenix
  • Airport Services: FLG features one small cafe. 
  • Getting To/From the Airport:
    Car Rentals: Avis, Budget, Hertz, National, Enterprise. 
    Shuttles: Available to the South Rim or into Town. 

Phoenix Airport

Just under 4 hours from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, the Phoenix Airport is the most convenient airport for accessing the park.

  • Location: From Phoenix, drive north on I-17 to Flagstaff. Then drive northwest on US-180 for roughly 75 miles to the South Rim.
  • Airlines: All major airlines.
  • Airport Services: Restaurants, Shopping, and more.

Las Vegas Airport

While Las Vegas is roughly 5 hours from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, it offers some competitive pricing when it comes to flights.

  • Airport Code: LAS
  • Location: From Las Vegas, drive southeast on US-93 to I-40. At Williams, AZ turn north/left onto US-180 and drive directly to the South Rim. 
  • Airlines: All major airlines.
  • Airport Services: Restaurants, Shopping, and Slot Machines. 
  • Getting To/From the Airport:
    Car Rentals: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and others.
