Tennis

The Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, is not associated generally with tennis and there are few courts available within the park. Tourists who visit the park's lodge can use the one court that sits behind it, but the canyon's only official club is located just outside in the town of Payson.

With only one tennis court at its famous lodge, the Grand Canyon National Park truly has something to entertain everyone. Officially only guests are permitted to use this one, but the club and court facilities that bares its name has become a central point for local championships as well as outstanding accommodation. Tennis courts have never been so much fun.

Situated in nearby Payson in what has become known as the 'valley of sun', the local club has just finished hosting its 72nd annual GPCA National Specialty championships, which is held every April. Tennis players from across the area flock to it in hopes of earning coveted trophies and the chance to rise up through the rankings, maybe even one day working their way into national status.

The club is open to the general public as it provides a central point near the park for tennis lovers. It is also a local hotel facility that is run by a local family. There are instructors available during the summer, and its club store has all sorts of trinkets and equipment to keep every tennis player of any age quite contented. It even sells personalized tennis things with the club's logo on them.
