Vortexes are centers of energy that are actually neither energy nor magnetism. They are to be experienced to be understood. Sedona has four major vortexes. This energy interacts with the human body and energizes the person. While climbing the treacherous terrains of these rock formations, you will strangely not feel fatigued at all, and this will happen because of these energy fields.

The rock formations and the energy fields are located close to the city of Sedona in Arizona. But the best time to climb these crimson rock formations is during sunsets and sunrises. Because it is during these times of the day that you can experience the magical colorful display.

In the area, around the Sedona Vortexes you will find different kinds of wildlife too. You can take part in bird watching from atop the cliffs.

Tours to the vortexes can be organized from Sedona, Phoenix and Flagstaff. There are hiking routes that crisscross the area and these hikes range from the moderate to the difficult. Or you can also camp in some areas. Several vortexes have nearby lakes where fishing and boating are some of the activities that you become a part of.
