Boynton Canyon

A stunningly scenic and unique feature in Sedona, Arizona is the Boynton Canyon. The canyon is one of the few box canyons that lie scattered in Sedona making it a most picturesque region in America. The area is easily accessible from nearby towns making it a hiker's paradise.

The trails in the Boynton Canyon are always thronged by hiking enthusiasts, as the climb is not a strenuous one. The breathtaking surroundings of the region lure tourists from all over the world. And because of the fact that the canyon is extremely accessible makes it a hot favorite. The area experiences New Age 'vortex', which is a kind of energy emanating from the earth's core and this attracts many too. Tourists flock here every year to experience this unique phenomenon.

Boynton Canyon is located just 2 miles west of Sedona. To reach this place you have to drive down from Flagstaff to Sedona. The distance from Flagstaff to Sedona is 27 miles. Through Sedona take the US 89 A to go to Dry Creek Road and then drive to the canyon.

The hike through the spectacular crimson and orange canyon walls is a refreshing one. As you are hiking, you will experience hot and dry weather during the first mile of the walk. The vegetation will consist of shrubs and manzanita bushes. However, deep down the trail, you will come across lush green forests and cooler temperature.

The vegetation comprises of grooves of pine and ponderosa trees along with vibrant wild flowers that embellish the trails on both sides. If you are lucky you can come across packs of deer's and rare birds.
