Annual event held for 4 days every fall. Fun for everyone!

The first fair was held in October of 1913 and continued until 1932 except for a lapse during the Great Depression and World War II. While a fair was not held at the fairgrounds, a Yavapai County Fair booth displayed exhibits each year at the Arizona State Fair. In 1947 the fair returned to the Yavapai fairgrounds and have continued since. With track located on the fairgrounds, horse racing reigns as a major event of the fair but is not the central focus.

A free informational book including a schedule and details of the fair are available at the local library, chamber of commerce, Yavapai County Fairgrounds and various locations about town. The fairgrounds are located on Schemmer Drive and Gail Gardener Way in Prescott. The fair features a multitude of departments, which include: fine arts, photography, creative art/collections, floriculture, a horse show, minerals and gems, community and non-profit exhibits, horseshoe tournament, and a treasure hunt.
