A great display and auction of vintage and contemporary weavings.

Every year in July, two events make the top of vacation lists for travelers. These are the Prescott Indian Art Market and the annual Navajo Rug Auction. Authentic creations from Native American painters, weavers and jewelers are displayed at the market. You will find awesome prices on rugs and baskets and other art works at the Rug Auction. The work is both traditional and contemporary.

There are lots of things to do here at these shows. Watch fry bread and famous Navajo tacos made right in front of you. Enjoy the musical performances and demonstrations. Refreshments will also be available.

The art market will take place at the Sharlot Hall Museum on Gurley Street. The Navajo Rug Auction takes place at the Smoki Museum, designed to resemble an Indian pueblo. There will be a lot of fun for the whole family, along with lessons in the history of the Native Americans.
