The charm, emotion and energy of Arizona folk music pervade the shade-covered grounds of Sharlot Hall Museum during its annual Folk Music Festival held on the first weekend of October each year. As Arizona’s oldest continual folk music festival, Sharlot Hall Museum’s Folk Music Festival has stimulated the development of folk music in this state for over three decades.

Every October Prescott has its annual Folk Music Festival, bringing people from all over Arizona for fun and music of all kinds. You'll see fiddlers, storytellers, songwriters, and more. There will be a big barn dance on Saturday night and a yummy BBQ.

Listen to the banjos, watch musicians jam together on certain themes, and take part in a sing-along. Watch the dancers and get up there yourself! Do clogging, contra dancing, or flamenco. You can also take part in some of the workshops presented for the public. Learn instrumental styles, and get into singer and songwriter sessions.

If you don't have an instrument now, you may walk off with one at the musical instrument swap meet. On the last day in the morning, there will also be country gospel singing. So make your way to Sharlot Hall Museum in October and get busy having lots of fun!
