Just ninety minutes north of Phoenix, you will find a small yet historic town, nestled in the hills of northern Arizona – Prescott. Surrounded with large forests of Ponderosa pine, this area claims some interesting patrons, including Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. And with the Cowboy Poets Gathering once a year, Prescott brings to life these men.
For three days, sometimes over 125 performers put forth some fabulous storytelling, songs and poetry of the old Arizona working cowboys. Every year, in August, many come to enjoy this gathering occurring at the Sharlot Hall Museum.
