When in northern Arizona, travel to Prescott for your vacation. You'll find a wide variety of activities for the whole family. A perfect recreation paradise, Prescott, Arizona and the surrounding area offers both adults and children lots of fun things to do that will make your trip one to remember.

You have to be sure to include Prescott, Arizona in your travel plans to the southwestern US. There are so many things to do, you won't be able to cover them all in your visit, but it sure will be fun trying.

Take some day trips to a popular destination such as Granite Mountain Wilderness where you can hike or horseback ride through the wilderness. It's only 20 minutes from town. You'll get some outstanding views from the top of Granite Mountain. On the hike, you will see gigantic granite boulders and incredible rock formations.

The Prescott National Forest has other sights that you won't want to miss. If you like to hike or backpack through the backcountry, there are almost 450 miles of trails for your enjoyment.

But you can stay in town as well, for there are many activities you can enjoy here too. You can take a walking tour of the downtown area for an interesting look at the history of this region. Visit the Phippen Museum or the Sharlot Hall Museum where you will get an informative look at Arizona's native cultures.
