June is the Month for Astronomy in Grand Canyon National Park

On the afternoon of June 5, 2012, there will be public telescope viewing of a rare Transit of Venus at the South Rim’s Grand Canyon Visitor Center. Then, from Saturday, June 16 through Saturday, June 23, the twenty-second annual Grand Canyon Star Party will be held on both the South and North Rims of the park. Read more

Red Flag warning in effect through Friday

WILLIAMS, Ariz. - A Red Flag warning from Prescott to the Kaibab Plateau is in effect for today and tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service. This warning covers the Williams, Tusayan and North Kaibab districts of the Kaibab National Forest . Forest visitors are advised to refrain from having a campfire when Red Flag warnings exist. Fritsinger is Williams' latest council member

WILLIAMS, Ariz. - More than 55 percent of 351 Williams voters selected Craig Fritsinger as the newest Williams City Council member. Fritsinger received 195 votes over challenger Bobby Patricca, who secured 153 votes. There were three write-in votes in the May 15 election. Read more
