Winslow (AZ) is the perfect Arizona town for travel, vacations and information. In fact it has become notoriously proud of its connection to a number one 1970's song that catapulted on famous American pop band into permanent stardom. Otherwise the town lives up to its reputation, where taking it easy in style and comfort whilst enjoying fun activities and attractions are really inviting.

Ironically, the 70's pop group, the 'Eagles', wrote one of their most famous songs about the town. The townspeople were so happy that they constructed a monument in honor of the group at a park corner. In fact, the monument alone attracts millions of visitors very year.

People have lived on the site for many thousands of years. Ancient native people and Mormon settlers are amongst some of it recent homesteaders, and it is thanks to them that the town has thrived so well.

Visiting Winslow requires at least a few days. Most tourists love to explore this quaint and hospitable railroad stop, enjoying car shows, rodeos, local culture, cowboy culture, Native culture, rock art, rock 'n' roll and even rock climbing. Other important must see spots include the La Posada Hotel and museum, the Santa Fe Railroad, the Remembrance Garden (honors the World Trade Center attacks with real artifacts), the visitor center, Hubbell Trading Post, Peter Toth Monument and the historic main street. Also, one should not miss the Old Trails Historical Museum, Brigham City (fort), Clear Creek, McHood Park and the Homolovi Ruins State Park.

The town is also famous for its country cooking at varied cafes and restaurants. Real cowboy fare is found in every corner, especially the local dance hall and bar where locals mingle much as they would in a country pub in Europe. In fact, the food is especially good during rodeos and festivals when home cooking truly comes into its element.
