People visit the Grand Canyon National Park not only for its spectacular natural wonders, but for the many activities available as well. No matter your mood and taste, there will be something to do during your summer stay in the Grand Canyon.
Hiking
Hiking the many trails of the Grand Canyon is a good way to get close up and personal with nature; discover breathtaking landscapes and quiet secluded spots.
Biking
Beginning Summer 2010, bike rentals will be available along the South Rim at the Canyon View Information Center. This will offer a great way to see the park from the rim and is a fun activity for the whole family.
Rafting
If you are feeling really advantageous, you may want to spend some of your time in the park on a whitewater rafting trip. These whitewater rafting trips vary in length from 3 days to 3 weeks.
Camping
For those who like to camp, there are many places in the Grand Canyon to make camp. The park offers both developed and undeveloped camping.
Fishing
For those visitors who prefer a more relaxed pace, fishing opportunities are available in the park. Though most fishing requires an overnight backcountry permit, you can apply for this before your trip. All fishing does require an Arizona fishing license, which can be purchased at one of the many shops in the park.
