Grand Canyon National Park, erosion's magnum opus, features a wealth of services and facilities to enhance your park visit.

South Rim Services at Grand Canyon Village

The South Rim, the park's more developed and visited side, features Grand Canyon Village.

  • Lodging & Campgrounds: There are a number of lodging options available, including camping, within the park at the South Rim. Book these in-park options early. Other lodging is available in the gateway community of Tusayan. 
  • Food: Groceries, a deli, an ice cream parlor, and multiple restaurants, including sit down restaurants, coffee house and cafeterias, are available along the South Rim. 
  • Transportation: A free shuttle service provides transportation to many attractions and services along the South Rim. In addition the Grand Canyon Village offers taxi, bus and train service (Grand Canyon Railway). The Grand Canyon Airport, a small facility located 10 miles south of the park, provides limited service to such destinations as Las Vegas and Phoenix. The airport, however, lacks car rental facilities, requiring you to hail a taxi. 
  • Fuel: The closest fuel to Grand Canyon Village is located in the town of Tusayan, a 7 mile drive. 
  • Service Station: There is a public garage behind the General Office Building that provides emergency repairs to tires, belts, batteries, etc. 
  • Laundry & Showers: Coin operated laundry and showers are available at the Camper Services Building at the entrance of Mather Campground. 
  • ATM: Located at Market Plaza. 
  • Post Office: Located at Market Plaza. 
  • Medical Services: Dial 911 for 24-hour emergency care. The North Country Grand Canyon Clinic is also available, open daily from 8am to 6pm. 
  • Kennels: Open daily for pet daycare services. 
  • Camping Equipment: The General Store at Market Plaza sells and rents camping, backpacking and hiking equipment. 
  • Child Daycare: Daycare is available at the Kaibab Learning Center during weekdays.

South Rim Services at Desert View

  • Camping: There is one campground located at Desert View that is open every summer from mid-May to mid-October. This campground has no hook ups. 
  • Fuel: Gas is available at the Desert View Chevron Service Station. 
  • Laundry & Showers: The closest coin operated laundry and showers are located in Grand Canyon Village. 
  • Food & Gifts: The Desert View Marketplace and Trading Post Snack Bar offer groceries, snacks, and some souvenirs. 
  • Medical: Dial 911 for 24-hour emergency care. The closest medical clinic is located in Grand Canyon Village.

North Rim Services

All North Rim facilities and services are open from mid-May to mid-October.

  • Lodging & Camping: Lodging is available at the Grand Canyon Lodge and camping is available at the North Rim Campground. 
  • Food: One grocery store and a handful of eateries including the lodge dining room, a cook-out, saloon and deli are available at the North Rim. 
  • Fuel: Fuel is available at the North Rim Chevron Service Station at the entrance to the North Rim campground. The Service Station provides minor auto repairs. The closest major services station is located in the town of Jacob Lake, a 45 mile drive. 
  • Laundry & Showers: Coin operated laundry and showers are available at the North Rim campground. 
  • Post Office: Located in the Grand Canyon Lodge complex. 
  • Medical: Dial 911 for 24-hour emergency care. 
  • Gifts & Camping Equipment: The Grand Canyon Association Bookstore, Grand Canyon Lodge Gift Shop and Camper Store (in Campground) offer gifts, information and camping and hiking equipment.
