Flagstaff Ranch Golf Course, Flagstaff Arizona

Located just west of Flagstaff, Arizona, the Flagstone Ranch Country Club offers one of the finest displays of alpine golf in the entire state. Unlike most of Arizona's desert courses this 18-hole jewel is framed by stands of ponderosa pine, making it both scenic and challenging.

Designed by former United States Open Champion, Jerry Pate, this private course stretches for 7,200 yards. Despite the length, Flagstaff Ranch features four different tee boxes, allowing golfers of all abilities to manage the course with their golfing egos still intact. The rolling fairways are hemmed by tall stands of pine, meaning that if you have a habit of slicing or hooking you better wear orange so the other members of your golfing party can find you. Almost 50 bunkers add to the course's challenge. And the bent grass greens play quick, but true

The course is open April through November. For tee times call (520) 214-0677. A driving range is available. The club house includes a fitness center and kids recreation area.

To find Flagstaff Ranch follow Interstate 40 west. Take Exit 192, turn right on the aptly named Flagstaff Ranch Road and follow it into the course.
