Lowell Observatory

Not far from the bustling countryside and trails outside of Flagstaff, Arizona, the Lowell Observatory is located just outside the city's downtown core in the Steel Visitor Center. It has a scenic university backdrop that offers numerous private and group astronomy/stars programs/tours for school field trips and want to be/other astronomers of all levels.

For those fascinated with astronomy, the Lowell Observatory on the Mars Hill university campus is a great place for young and old to learn more about the stars and other interesting features of our universe. Located just outside downtown Flagstaff, Arizona, the center provides programs and tours for both school and private groups.

The Observatory is situated in the Steele Visitor Center, and is open daily from 10am to 4pm. Exhibits and hands-on displays offer an interactive introduction to the heavens above and the solar system that we all call home. Guests can partake in wide-screen domed multimedia programs as well as getting the chance to look through the huge telescope on clear evenings.

Stargazing and other programs can accommodate anywhere up to sixty participants, and each one is designed to suit the age group of those involved. In fact, the observatory boasts a unique series of exciting and inspiring road shows in astronomy, bringing the stars and the planets to private parties, telescopes to backyards and other things to even birthday parties. Prices start at $70 per hour, with evening showings costing just $150 per group. Private road shows vary in price, and details are available from the information center.
