Join the park rangers for a day to learn about the people who used to inhabit the Grand Canyon area. Family friendly activities, speakers and an evening program help celebrate the Grand Canyon Archeology Day.

At the Grand Canyon Visitor Center - 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with special evening program at the Shrine of Ages at 7:30 p.m.

All Archeology Day activities and programs are free of charge. Overview: We celebrate Archeology Day each year to discover what the native people of the Grand Canyon area left behind. Hands on activities like making clay pinch pots, sifting for atrifacts and participating in activities help visitors to grasp what life was life before the grand Canyon was a National Park area.

When: Help in mid March each year

Where: Join the events at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center

Fees: These events are free for park visitors

Details: Events typically run mid morning to late afternoon. a featured speaker will be schedule around 7 on the day of events. All events are family friendly and help explain parts of the grand Canyon's history that we can't see everyday.

Activities begin at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and move onto the Yavapai Lodge and ending at the Shrine of the Ages.
