Internet Access

Seclusion, isolation and landscapes that are unearthly and beautiful – nothing could describe the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona better, or could it? For those visiting the park there is no end to the variations in experiences, but trying to convey this to the outside world via the Internet can be challenging at best. Access within the park is limited to certain spots, but now Wi-Fi access is available.

The Grand Canyon National Park is a stunning and tranquil place that can be friendly, inviting or sinister and dangerous, with glowing colours and hues found in rock formations that are found in few places on Earth. Even access to the Internet has its remoteness there, available more so than ever before, but only at its outer rims and now within its many buildings, coffee establishments and restaurants.

Staying connected in the Grand Canyon is not so difficult if visitors stick to access attempts on the South or North Rims. Laptop owners will find that both the public and private campgrounds provide Wi-Fi hotspots. The park village has motels, hotels and a tiny library where free Wi-Fi can be received both within rooms and in public areas. For a guaranteed hotspot, the Xanterra Recreation Center on Albright Avenue, has free public computers with broadband access and a strong Wi-Fi signal for everyone else.
